About this project

The ScreenBar Halo is one of the more thoughtfully designed desk accessories on the market. It mounts directly to the top of a monitor, illuminating the workspace below without producing glare on the screen. The wireless controller puck is what separates it from the rest of the category. A single dial controls brightness and color temperature, and the form factor is clean enough to sit on a desk without competing with anything around it.

Photographing a lighting product presents a specific challenge: the product's function is the light itself. That means the environment becomes part of the story. Several of the shots in this set were composed to show the ScreenBar in use, capturing the warm spread across the desk surface and the ambient backlight on the wall behind the monitor. The remaining frames isolate the bar and controller on their own, focusing on the matte aluminum finish and the precision of the build.

Products like this are designed to disappear into a setup, which is both what makes them effective and what makes them difficult to capture well. The approach here was to give the ScreenBar enough visual weight in each composition that it holds attention on its own, while still feeling grounded in the context where it actually lives.
